No Place Like Home

No matter where life takes me, there is truly no place like home—and for me, home is where my heart rests. My boys once called me Yima Dehey (“my mommy”), needing me for everything. Today, I lean on these young men for love, support, protection, and wisdom in technology and investments. I am strong because I know they stand behind me… always.

Through one of them, I gained a daughter—a beautiful woman who loves God and her family—and together they’ve given me the gift of grandchildren. Grandchildren are God’s sweet reminder that love multiplies. They bring back the joy of loving little ones who look and act like your own children once did, but without the weight of responsibility.

In recent weeks, I’ve been blessed to spend time with many of the friends and family the Lord has placed in my life, both in Phoenix and Chicago. My heart is overflowing with joy—even if I didn’t capture every moment in pictures. The first photo is of my high school best friends—yes, we still gather a couple of times each year, and when we do, it feels like we’re 15 again! Just as Proverbs 17:22 reminds us, “A cheerful heart is good medicine.”

Other photos hold my boys then and now, my grandson, and my sweet pooch Gracie.

Oh Lord, thank You. Life is so good.

I carry this joy with me as I journey to Amsterdam and Istanbul with my sisters.

Thank you for walking alongside me in this adventure. I’d love to welcome you at my next retreat in Budapest, Hungary—come as you are and see what God has in store. Yes, take me!

With all my love, Hanan
