I hope you had fun celebrating America's 250th birthday!
The United States stands as a bold experiment in freedom — a nation born from courage, conviction, and the belief that people should govern themselves. America has been a symbol of hope for the world, proving that ordinary citizens could shape their own destiny. What makes the U.S. truly special is its spirit: a relentless drive to innovate, to explore, to overcome, and to dream bigger than anyone thought possible. Across its vast landscapes and vibrant cities, you feel the heartbeat of a country built by generations who believed in liberty and opportunity.
Chrystal Evans Hurst speaks about hope being something we choose rather than feel. We can do this by:
Pausing and remembering where God has been faithful before.
Looking for small glimpses of growth, even if they feel insignificant.
Speaking the Truth of Scripture over our situation, even when your feelings disagree.
Heather and I choose hope every time we curate and announce a retreat. We trust that God will guide our plans and bring the people that need what that particular trip has to offer. We are off to Budapest Hungary in a few weeks and would love your prayers.

July was a month of movement and reconnection. I continued to teach my classes and took golf, country swing and Pilates Reformer lessons. I road‑tripped to Las Vegas with my girlfriend from Toronto and my sister — a fun, laughter‑filled reminder of how good it feels to be with your people. I also stepped into a different kind of journey: a retreat where, for once, I got to be the participant!
I joined Assyrian Adventures for a hiking experience in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee (a perfect way to celebrate America) tackling Clingman’s Dome, Alum Cave, and Abrams Falls. We explored Ruby Falls, wandered Rock City Gardens, and soaked in the magic of Anakeesta. The group was much younger than me, but their energy was contagious — a reminder that you absolutely can fit into any retreat or adventure. Don’t underestimate yourself.
Next month I’m off to Hungary, with plans to add a few neighboring countries to the adventure.
